What it is
It corrects an uneven or faded lip colour and redraws a border that has blurred with time. The finish ranges from a watercolour tint to a fuller, more saturated colour.
The lip is the most sensitive area of the face and the one that changes most between the day of the session and the healed result.
Who it is for
- Pale or unevenly pigmented lips
- A border that has lost definition
- Wanting colour that survives coffee and a mask

Better to wait, or to check first, if…
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding
- Cold sores: with a history of herpes, antiviral cover prescribed by your doctor is needed
- Active inflammation, cracking or wounds on the lip
- Uncontrolled diabetes, active autoimmune disease or ongoing cancer treatment
- Anticoagulant treatment without your doctor’s go-ahead
- Recent or current isotretinoin
- Known allergy to pigments, topical anaesthetics, latex or nickel
- Recent lip filler: margins have to be respected and the order agreed

The session, step by step

Colour and shape
We choose the tone against your natural lip colour and draw the border you want before starting.

Topical anaesthetic
Applied and reinforced during the session — the lip needs it.

Pigment
Worked in layers so the colour builds evenly.

Check and aftercare
We even out the border and explain the healing, which on lips matters more than anywhere else.
What it feels like
The most sensitive area of the face. Uncomfortable rather than painful, and the anaesthetic is topped up if needed.
Before and after
Before you come
- With a history of cold sores, ask your doctor for antiviral cover
- Exfoliate and moisturise the lip in the days before
- No alcohol or coffee the day before
After the session
- The lip swells and looks very intense for the first days
- Keep it moisturised as instructed and do not pull at the flaking
- No spicy food, sauna, pool or sun while it heals
- Colour settles considerably once healed
When you see it
Day one is intense and swollen. The lip you keep is softer and more natural than the one you leave with — that is the whole point.
What it does not do
- It does not add volume: that is a different treatment
- It does not remove wrinkles around the mouth
- It does not give you a lipstick finish that lasts forever
- It does not correct a large asymmetry
